Vigilance urged after spate of South Armagh burglaries
Sinn Fein Councillor Mickey Larkin has warned people in south Armagh to be vigilant after a spate of burglaries.
The Slieve Gullion representative called on people to look out for both their own property and their neighbours.
“There have been a number of burglaries carried out in the Killian, Dromintee and Jonesborough area over the last two to three days,” he said.
“They seem to be being carried out by the same gang responsible for a spate of burglaries between Jonesborough and Crossmaglen three or four weeks ago.
“It’s believed the culprits are three men in a silver Clio with a fake plate. Two of them get out and clear a house out while the other stays in the car and circles back for them.
Larkin added, “I’d urge people to remain vigilant and to be on the look out for any suspicious vehicles or activity. If there is a Neighbourhood Watch or Community Safety scheme in your area I’d also recommend getting involved with them. We should not be making it easy for these thugs to invade our communities.”
