Community, What's On
On Saturday 26th September the Ring of Gullion Outreach & Volunteering Group is partnering up with Re-Gen Waste Ltd in a litter lift operation of the shores and amenity sites of Camlough Lake. litter liftWith the summer holidays coming to a close and the lowered water level of the lake it is an ideal time to collect litter from the harder to reach areas of the lake shore. There has noticeably been a lot of litter being dropped around the lake, offering a potential deterrent for visitors coming to the Slieve Gullion Area. Joseph Doherty, MD at Re-Gen Waste said, “As a Waste Management Company located in Newry we feel it is our duty to contribute to the cleanliness of the natural beauty that surrounds our business. “In this case we would like to extend a welcome invitation to you and your colleagues in joining Re-Gen and the Slieve Gullion Outreach & Volunteer group in this litter lift operation.” This event is open to the general public, where residents of the local area are particularly keen to be involved. For such an iconic area of natural beauty, it is important to all living in the area that is kept clean to protect and preserve the historical landscape. All safety wear, litter pickers and bags will be provided by the Ring of Gullion Outreach and Volunteer Group on arrival and refreshments and sandwiches will be provided for volunteers by Re-Gen Waste Ltd. Date: Saturday 26th September Time: 11am – 4pm Location: Camlough Lake Car park, Newtown Road, Camlough, BT35 7JJ If you would like more information, or to register to volunteer please contact Alison Henderson, Volunteer & Outreach Officer on 028 3082 8594 or email
