Good news for Dungormley Estate
Sinn Féin Councillor Barra Ó Muirí has welcomed the news that the Housing Executive are to carry out much needed improvements to homes in Dungormley Estate.
“I have had numerous meetings with the Housing Executive with regard to Dungormley,” he explained to Newry Times.
“I have always found their staff to be courteous and helpful and am delighted that they have agreed to carry out an improvements programme in the Spring.
“At a site meeting local residents pointed out facia boards that needed replaced, back doors that weren’t fit for purpose, glazing and other issues including the road surface at the back of the houses. These residents will be glad to have their houses improved to the standard they would expect.
“This news is compounded by the fact that the landowner behind Dungormley has agreed to cut back the trees that have overgrown and are causing problems for residents.
He added, “These trees are blocking out natural light and due to their proximity to houses, have birds defecating on parked cars. It is anticipated that these trees will be cut back in the Autumn when they have lost their foliage.”
