Four injured in Mayobridge collision
Four people have been injured in what police described as a ‘serious collision’ in Mayobridge.
The collision happened on Aughnagon Road yesterday and involved a car and three motorbikes.
Two of the injured were taken to Craigavon Hospital, one was flown to the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast and the fourth was taken to the local Daisy Hill Hospital.
Speaking to Newry Times, SDLP Councillor Gillian Fitzpatrick expressed shock at the road accident. She said, “I was shocked to hear about the accident involving a car and three motorcycles at the Aughnagun Road in Mayobridge. One of those involved is a neighbour of mine and the incident has left the whole community shaken.
“My thoughts are with all those injured in this awful accident, especially the motorcyclist who has been urgently airlifted to the Royal Hospital in Belfast. I hope and pray that everyone makes a complete recovery.
“I have no doubt that the Mayobridge community will provide whatever help and support they can to all those involved during this difficult time,” she added.
It is believed three are in a stable condition in hospital and one person has been discharged.
