Information sought after Bessbrook theft
Local police are appealing for information following a theft in Bessbrook.
Sometime between Friday, 17th July and Wednesday, 22nd July, a large, black, metal gate (approximately 6ft by 4ft) was taken from the Bessbrook Pond area.
The gate was in place to prohibit access to a dangerous area around the pond.
Speaking to Newry Times, Constable Lee McGill said, “The gate is wieldy and we believe it would have taken at least two people to remove it and a vehicle to transport it.
He added, “We would like to hear from anyone who noticed any activity in the area during these times or anyone who has information which may assist our investigation. We can be contacted in Newtownhamilton on 101, quoting ref: 316 230715.”
