Road signage for Chancellor’s Road T-Junction
Road signage directing people to the Dublin/Belfast A1 is to be erected at the Chancellor’s Road T-Junction in Newry.
The sign will be erected at the junction where the road meets Martin’s Lane and Chancellor’s Link.
Sinn Fein’s Conor Murphy said he was glad to see the Department respond so quickly to his request. “This junction has been causing problems for some time now as unless you know the area there’s no way to tell which way you should be heading,” he said.
“Residents of the area came to me about it and I wrote to the department explaining the issue. I’m happy to be able to report that an assessment was carried out and Roads Service will now be erecting some signage at the junction.
He added, “I want to thank Newry Roads Service for their prompt response to this issue. We have numerous issues with roads across the district but this is an example of how government should work on these matters. I look forward to similar engagements in the future.”
