Newcastle Festival of Flight launched
B/E Aerospace, the world’s leading manufacturer of aircraft cabin interior products, is proud to support the region’s annual celebration of aviation.
For the fourth year in succession the company will be the headline private sector sponsor of the B/E Aerospace Festival of Flight, organised by Newry, Mourne and Down District Council with additional support from Tourism Northern Ireland.
The action-packed programme will run from 7th – 9th August with the annual aerial spectacular adding drama to the skies above Newcastle on Saturday 8th August.
Welcoming the investment from B/E Aerospace, one of the area’s largest private sector employers, Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Naomi Bailie, spoke of the positive economic impact which the festival will bring.
“This is one of the biggest annual events within our ambitious and wide-ranging tourism strategy and we estimate that attendance this year could exceed 100,000 people.
“Clearly those visitors will make a significant positive impact on the local economy over the weekend when the aerial excitement will be, quite literally, at its height, but our research also shows us that many will be inspired to return to enjoy the region’s other attractions,” she added.
The B/E Aerospace Festival of Flight 2015 promises a powerful combination of stunning airborne spectacle, complemented by a lively ground level programme of family-friendly events and attractions, all played out against the iconic backdrop of the Mountains of Mourne sweeping down to the sea.
