Great weekend of live music at Newcastle Summer Season
Music lovers have two fantastic reasons to visit Newcastle soon as the Newcastle Summer Season entertainment programme presents the The Illegals with Niamh Kavanagh on Friday 24th July at 8pm, and ‘Shake, Rattle & Roll’ with The Soda Popz on Saturday 25th July at 8pm.
On Friday 24th July the ‘ultimate classic rock double tribute’ and firm Summer Season favourites, The Illegals with Niamh Kavanagh, return to deliver another incredible night of heart-pumping live music as part of the Newcastle Summer Season.
Arguably one of the best live bands in the country and better than ever, The Illegals have become a highlight of the summer in Newcastle, playing to packed houses and standing ovations.
Every year the band, featuring the brilliant Niamh Kavanagh on vocals, delves deeper into the Eagles and Fleetwood Mac back-catalogues to keep their dynamic live show fresh but familiar.
Featuring classic favourites including Hotel California, The Chain, Desperado, Dreams, The Last Resort and Everywhere, and a few songs from Linda Rondstadt, Neil Young, Bonnie Raitt and Tom Petty, the band never fails to raise the roof.
Expect an entertaining night of vocal harmony, superb musicianship, unforgettable songs and great fun, all served up by a band at the top of its game.
On Saturday 25th July audiences should prepare to be razzle-dazzled! Having played to packed dance floors around the country, Northern Ireland’s only 1950s Rock n Roll band, The Soda Popz, are set to make a sensational return to the Newcastle Centre this summer.
Their new show pays tribute to many of the rock’n’roll legends of the 1950’s and 60’s, including Johnny Cash, Bill Haley, Connie Francis and many more ‘Shake, Rattle & Roll’ will transport you back to that rockin’, boppin’ era with dazzling costumes and toe tapping hits. So get your glad rags on and rock around the clock!
On Saturday 25th July at 1pm and 2.30pm, circus performers Babcock and Bobbins will be on the promenade in Newcastle entertaining families with their traditional circus show that incorporates a good mix of slapstick comedy and circus skills, including fire juggling, giraffe unicycle, stilt walking, rola bola and fire-breathing.
ADDITIONAL DATES: Due to popular demand there is three added extra dates for The Holy Holy Bus (sold out on 31 July & 1 August). Tickets are now on sale for Monday 27th, Tuesday 28th and Thursday 30th July at 8pm.
