Two boats damaged at Newry’s Albert Basin

Police in Newry are appealing for information after two boats at Albert Basin were damaged. nnSometime between 6pm on Saturday, 6th June and Thursday morning, 11th June, entry was forced to two boats. One of these boats – the Silvery Light – is currently being restored by a local charity to be used as a community boat. This and another boat – the Badger – had doors ripped off and windows and instruments broken. Speaking to Newry Times, Constable Nicki Martin said, “This is a very disheartening attack on the whole community and we would like to hear from anyone who has information which may assist our investigation.
