Newry crash victim named

Police in Newry can confirm that the male motorcyclist who died following a collision with a tractor on the Rathfriland Road yesterday, Monday 15th June, was 46 year old Noel Campbell from the Rathfriland area.

The collision took place at around 4.30pm near Ashtree Cottages and the Rathfriland Road remained closed until around 11.30pm on Monday night.

Enquiries into the collision are ongoing and Inspector Lynsey Barr has continued to appeal to anyone who was travelling on the Rathfriland Road on Monday afternoon and who witnessed the collision to contact police in Ardmore on 101.
