Anger over Camlough dumping

Sinn Fein councillor Roisin Mulgrew has expressed her disappointment at the continued dumping problem in the Camlough area.

camloughlake“On Easter Monday a large group of volunteers met at Camlough Lake and removed more than one hundred bags of rubbish, while another group met at the Keggal Road Viewpoint and cleaned up the pathway to the lake from this point,” she said.

“Both groups gave their time freely in order to enhance the appearance of our magnificent lake and the surrounding area so it could be enjoyed by locals and visitors alike.

“It is extremely sad that a small number of people can have so little respect for not only this area but also those that have worked so hard to promote and improve it.

“Saturday 6th June will see thousands come to Camlough to take part and watch the Crooked Lake Triathlon and this dumping and disregard for the area is not an image which we would want anyone attending the event to take away with them.

Mulgrew added, “I would urge those responsible to stop this immediately and to avail of the many recycling and waste facilities provided by the council.”
