Kielty headlines comedy nights at Irish Open Fringe Festival
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council are delighted that Patrick Kielty is headline act for the comedy nights at the Irish Open Fringe Festival.
The Council are organising a number of events throughout the week in Newcastle town from Monday 25th to Sunday 31st May.
These events are being put on for people in town for the golf and for others who are looking for an alternative.
Events will kick off on the Monday night with the GAA Down Open (an Ulster select playing the rest of Ireland) at St Patrick’s Park from 7pm.
Patrick Kielty will start off the comedy nights, which are being held on Friday and Saturday night from 6.45pm.
Lurgan legend Micky Bartlett will warm up the crowd as we await the arrival of popular Dundrum man Patrick Kielty. On Saturday night Northern Ireland’s Queen of Comedy, May McFettridge will be sure to have people laughing out loud.
May’s support is the cast of a new exciting Opera LoveGolffLove, written by Brian Irvine and presented by Northern Ireland opera. The comedy nights are selling out fast so be sure to book your spot early by contacting www.lolcomedy.co.uk.
Chairperson Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Naomi Bailie stated, “Newcastle will be buzzing over the week of the Irish Open and the Council are hosting a range of exciting events for everyone.
“The Open is a fabulous opportunity to showcase Newcastle and I would really encourage locals as well to come into the town to support the Open Fringe Festival and experience the excellent range of fabulous events on offer.”
