Elderly man ‘struck in the face by pellet’ in South Armagh

Police in South Armagh are appealing for information following an incident at Cullaville Road, Crossmaglen, at around 1pm on Saturday 9th May.

psniPolice received a report that an elderly man had been struck in the face by a pellet, believed to have been shot from a passing vehicle.

The man was out in a field near his home when the incident took place and was later taken to hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Detective Inspector Will Tate is appealing for anyone who was in the area and who may have noticed any suspicious activity or who has any information about this incident to contact detectives at Lurgan on 101 quoting reference number 756090515.

Information can also be passed anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
