Slieve Gullion Forest Drive closed for Easter
Slieve Gullion Sinn Féin Councillor Mickey Larkin is reminding people that the Forest Drive at Slieve Gullion will not be open at Easter.
“There has long been a tradition of visiting this beautiful area at Easter with the children to roll their eggs,” he explained.
“However, the Forestry Service has advised us that the driveway will not be open this year because of the amount of timber that has been felled and the machinery still operating on the mountain.
“Safety of the public must be our top concern in these instances and although it may be an inconvenience this year I know it will not stop families from celebrating the ending of lent.”
