Newry’s Newpoint Players win place in 2015 Ulster Drama Festival

Newry’s Newpoint Players have been unveiled as one of the six finalists competing in the 2015 Ulster Drama Festival.

The Festival, which is now in its 63rd year, showcases the very best of amateur drama in Ireland.

Following a series of highly competitive heats the winners were unveiled and the running order announced at the official launch of the Festival at the Courtyard Theatre, Ballyearl, Newtownabbey.

Representatives from the amateur drama community gathered to hear the draw for the ever-popular, week-long Festival which runs from May 18-23. The Newpoint Players will be performing Metamorphisis on the 19 May.

This classic play is a dark fantasy with many touches of humour. It describes how people will become the thing they have been treated as and includes a variety of live music, choreography and mime.
