Man (25) arrested on suspicion of theft

A 25 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of theft and going equipped.

The arrest follows a report just prior to 3pm on Wednesday 25 March that a quantity of alcohol had been stolen from a supermarket in the Newcastle Street area of Kilkeel.

The man left the area in a car which was stopped approximately 20 minutes later and the man was subsequently arrested.

Sergeant Stephen Davies said, “He currently remains in custody assisting police with their enquiries.”
