Man stabbed in Newry incident

Police are appealing for information following an assault that occurred in the Carnagat Park area of Newry in the early hours of Tuesday 17th March.

At approximately 3.10am, it was reported that a 48 year old man had been stabbed in the right hip and thigh following a confrontation in the area.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries and was later released.

Sergeant Christopher Tate said, “Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to contact Ardmore Police Station on the non emergency number 101.

“Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
