Casey urges vigilance after Newry attempted burglary

Newry Sinn Fein councillor Charlie Casey is urging residents in the city to be vigilant following an attempted burglary at a house in the Mourne View Park area.

He called on people to wary of suspicious activity around their own homes and their neighbours, especially those who are elderly or vulnerable.

“At around 8pm on Saturday night three men in their late 20s and early 30s broke into a house in the Mourne View Park area,” he explained to Newry Times.

“One was wearing a blue and white Adidas top. They were challenged by relatives of the homeowners and made off empty handed in a very recognizable Grey Audi A4 with LED lights and an 06 D Reg towards Barrack St and the Armagh Road.

Casey added, “I’d urge anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area to contact the PSNI.”
