Three men disturbed during Newry burglary

Police in Newry are appealing for information following a burglary at a house in Annsville on the evening of Thursday 26th February.

Police received a report at around 8pm that three men had forced entry to the house by the back door.

The men were disturbed by the occupant returning to the property and made off from the scene empty handed in a red coloured car in the direction of Ashgrove Road.

A red Skoda bearing English registration plates, believed to have been the car involved in this incident, was recovered at Craigmore Road in Newry on Saturday 28th February. Nothing was reported to have been taken as a result of the burglary.

Investigating officer, Constable Tim Coombs, has appealed for anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the Annsville area or in Craigmore Road to contact police at Ardmore on 101 quoting reference number 979260215.

Information can also be passed anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
