Vigilance urged after Newry burglary
Sinn Fein councillor Liz Kimmins has urged people in the Cloughogue area to be vigilant after residents interrupted a burglary in their home.
According to Kimmins, residents in a house in Park View awoke to find a man in their house with a torch and wheel brace.
“When he saw them he made off with what he could carry in a silver or beige Audi A4 with 07 Dublin plates,” she explained.
“I would urge people to be extra vigilant and not only look out for themselves but also their neighbours, particularly if they are elderly or vulnerable.”
