Two arrests after spate of Rostrevor burglaries

In the early hours of Friday 23rd January, two men aged 34 and 35 were arrested in the Rostrevor area.

According to police, both men were arrested on suspicion of two counts of burglary, theft and theft of a vehicle.

Detective Constable David Skillen said, “The arrests were made at approximately 1.30am and a car and caravan have been seized.

“It is believed that the arrests may be in connection with burglaries in the County Down and County Armagh areas in the past couple of days.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and I would appeal to anyone who was in any of these areas and may have noticed people or vehicles acting suspiciously to contact detectives in Newry on the non-emergency number 101.

He added, “Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
