Bolton Wanderers trial for Warrenpoint footballer Daniel Hughes

In-form Warrenpoint Town striker Daniel Hughes has been requested by Bolton for a four day trial.

And the club have confirmed that their top goal scorer will travel early next week to Bolton following detailed discussions between both clubs.

Manager and club director Barry Gray expressed his delight with the development. “It’s a fantastic achievement for Daniel to attract the interest of such an established professional club, however it’s important at this stage to outline that it’s just step one of what can be a long process.

“At this stage it’s just a trial but I’m confident that Daniel can make a lasting impression next week and we will do all we can to support him in this.”

Bolton Wanders FC have expressed their interest in Daniel following a review of games across the current season’s campaign.

Barry Gray added, “This is also a fantastic demonstration of local talent and football. I look forward to accompanying Daniel to Bolton next week where I know he’ll do his very best.”

The Board issued a statement offering their best wishes to Daniel for the trial. “On behalf of Warrenpoint town we would like to wish Daniel all the best on his trial.

“He is a true club ambassador and a perfect example of how local talent can progress. We will update everyone through social media and local press as Daniel progresses each day. Good luck Daniel!”
