Salt boxes maintenance raised with Road Service
Fews Sinn Féin councillor Roisin Mulgrew has contacted DOE Roads in relation to salt boxes for John F Kennedy Park.
Speaking on the issue Cllr Mulgrew said, “I have brought to the attention of Roads Service the need for salt boxes which need to be maintained in built up areas.
“The Cloughreagh and Kennedy Park areas are notoriously dangerous due to the fact that the streets are narrow and were never designed for traffic but now that the cold weather has hit it is vital that all our areas are serviced with adequate measures to deal with frost and ice.”
The local Sinn Féin Councillor advised anyone who identified a salt box that was in need of further grit to contact Newry Roads Service Office at 028 30253333 or to pass the details to her at 07719 106871.
