Man suffers fractured jaw in early morning Newry assault
Police in Newry are investigating the report of an assault in Monaghan Street in the early hours of Saturday 27th December.
It was reported that two men were attacked by two males in the street near a fast food takeaway sometime between 1.30am and 2.30am.
One of the men suffered a fractured jaw as a result of the assault whilst the second man suffered bruising.
The first suspect has been described as being in his early 20’s, of slim build, clean shaven, approximately 5ft 9in in height with fair coloured hair which was spiked up.
This male was possibly wearing a checked shirt with yellow in it and light coloured chinos.
The second suspect was described as being a male in his early 20’s, of large build, wearing dark clothing, possibly shirt and jeans, approximately 6ft 1in in height with facial hair. He may have had a goatee or beard and dark hair.
Police are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have witnessed the incident to contact police in Newry on 101 quoting reference number 678291214. Information can also be passed anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
