Newry car fire incident a ‘reckless act’

Newry & Mourne Sinn Féin Councillor Charlie Casey has said that the burning of a vehicle in the lane way between St Brigids Chapel and the Primary School was a ‘reckless act’ which had caused anger and concern amongst the local community.

The car was set on fire close to a local Primary School

“It appears that this car was taken here and deliberately burned,” he told Newry Times.

“This reckless and unacceptable incident has caused much anger and concern.

“I am currently endeavouring along with our Council to ensure that the vehicle is removed as quickly as practically possible” Casey added.
