Two officers injured after man rams police car

A 39 year old man has been charged with a number of driving offences including dangerous driving and driving when unfit through drink or drugs. The charges follow a collision on the border at Crossmaglen (Dundalk Road) during the early hours of Sunday morning, 21st December during which a police vehicle was rammed and two officers were injured. The police vehicle was damaged and is now off the road for repairs. He is expected to appear at Newry Magistrates Court and as is normal procedure the charges will be reviewed by the PPS.
