Steps 2 Success is designed to support eligible benefit claimants to find and sustain long-term employment.

The programme also supports the needs of local and national employers by giving them access to suitable, job-ready candidates for their vacancies.

The launch was held in Armagh and featured speeches by the Permanent Secretary and James Reed, who also visited the Reed in Partnership office and met with Employment Advisers, programme participants and local employers to see first-hand how the programme is being delivered in the region.

The Permanent Secretary said, “Steps 2 Success is the Department’s new employment programme to support jobseekers by improving their employability skills and providing assistance to find and sustain employment.

“The programme provides a major change in the way we help people, focussing on providing more flexible support for individuals’ needs and their barriers to work by offering each jobseeker a bespoke, personalised plan tailored to their needs, work experience and job goals.

“The key aims of Steps 2 Success are to support those most in need, regardless of employment barriers and build a programme that can adapt to changes in the economy and the needs of clients and employers,” he added.

Reed in Partnership Chairman, James Reed said, “Reed in Partnership is delighted to be delivering the Steps 2 Success programme. By offering local jobseekers tailored support to improve their employability and skills, and preparing them for local job opportunities, we can give them the best chance at finding long-term employment.

“Through Steps 2 Success Reed in Partnership, along with our partners, will bring our experience and expertise to support people, communities and businesses across the region to grow and develop.”

Reed in Partnership delivers the Steps 2 Success programme across the Southern Region of Northern Ireland with the support of delivery partners Global Education Ltd, Network Personnel, Rutledge Recruitment and Training and South Eastern Regional College.
