Police appeal after farm thefts

Police in Newtownhamilton are appealing for information following the theft of two forklifts from a farm in Mountnorris.

Speaking to Newry Times, Constable Kathryn Young, Newtownhamilton Response, said, “Some time between Tuesday, 2nd September and Thursday, 23rd October, two forklifts were taken from an outbuilding at a farm on Bessbrook Road, Mountnorris.

“The first forklift is a Daewoo 33S, manufactured in 2005 with four solid, black tyres. It is yellow and black around the frame of the car and is two wheel drive with a flashing beacon on top of the cab.

“The second forklift is a Daewoo G25P-5, manufactured in 2007 with four solid, black tyres. It has a black cab and red chassis and is a two wheel drive with a flashing beacon on top of the cab.

“A 6ft by 3ft log splitter was also taken. This is red in colour and has a hydraulic ram fitted.

He added, “I would like to hear from anyone who has information in relation to the theft or whereabouts of these items and can be contacted in Newtownhamilton on the 101 number, quoting ref: 307231014.”
