Floods and traffic chaos in Newry

Newry PSNI are dealing with a number of flooding incidents throughout the area, particularly in Newry city.

Bridge Street, Dorans Hill and Drumalane Road in Newry are shut at the moment and the tow path in the area of the city confines is flooded.

Please avoid the roads and streets around the river and canal in the city centre.

Urging the local community to exercise caution, SDLP Councillor Kevin McAteer told Newry Times, “Can I ask those who encounter any flooding to be careful and if they can please report it and it will be dealt with as soon as possible.”
