Newry car damaged in attempted theft

Police in Newry are appealing for information following the attempted theft of a car.

Speaking to Newry Times, Sergeant Colin Massey, Newry Neighbourhood Policing Team, explained, “Some time between 10.30pm on Sunday, 26th October and 8am on Monday, 27th October the driver’s side door of a red Vauxhall Corsa, parked in Cleary Crescent, was pulled back in an attempt to gain access to the vehicle.

“The steering wheel was also damaged. We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed this damage being caused or has information in relation to this incident.

He added, “You can contact us in Ardmore on 101, quoting ref: 202271014.”
