Man suffers head injuries in Newry attack

Police in Newry are appealing for information following an assault on Clanrye Avenue.

Speaking to Newry Times, Constable Mark Douglas, Newry and Mourne Response, explained, “Around midnight between Saturday, 4th October and Sunday, 5th October, a 22 year old man was walking along Clanrye Avenue at the playing fields when three males came out of an alleyway, behind the swimming pool.

“The three males attacked the man and made off with a small sum of money. The victim sustained an injury to his head which required medical treatment.

“I am asking anyone who witnessed the assault or has information in relation to this incident to contact us at Ardmore Police Station on the 101 number,” he added.
