Family support local charity in memory of their mum

The McAteer family from the Newry area handed over a cheque for £1,500 to local charity Friends of the Cancer Centre in memory of their mum, Annie McAteer.

The family had asked friends and family to make a donation to the charity in lieu of flowers at Mrs McAteer’s funeral and they would like to thank all those people who made a donation and supported them during this time.

Events and Community Fundraising Manager for Friends of the Cancer Centre, Claire Hogarth, said, “On behalf of Friends of the Cancer Centre, I would like to extend my sincere condolences to the McAteer family on their loss but would like to thank them for thinking of us at such a difficult time.

“The money raised will make a very big difference to the lives of patients and their families’ right across Northern Ireland.”
