Bradley calls for action to save post offices
SDLP Newry and Armagh MLA Dominic Bradley has said that it very important for the future of our post offices that government renews the contract for the Post Office Card Account.
Commenting on the future of the Post Office Bradley, who is a member of the All-Party Group on Postal Services, said, “The Post Office card account is a key element in the suite of services which the post office provides to the community.
“The Card account is an important service to people in the community who may not have a bank account or who do not have access to banks in their local area.
“Indeed, the viability of local post offices depends to a large extent on the card account contract being renewed. The network of post offices is very important to people who do not have access to the range of public transport available in other places.
“The help available on a face-to-face basis from the very able staff is a key part of the Post Office service which is valued and trusted by all in the community.
Bradley added, “SDLP MPs have made strong representations on this issue in order to ensure that this important service is not lost to the people who use it in our communities through their post offices.”
