Armed robbers dressed as workmen threaten woman and son
Detectives in Newry are appealing for information following the report of a robbery at a house in the Benagh Road area on Wednesday 9th April.
It was reported that shortly after midday three men called to a house in the area dressed as workmen and gained entry to the house.
Once inside a suspected firearm was produced and the two occupants threatened. A search of the property was then carried out and the men left the house a short time later on foot.
It is unclear what was taken at this time. Neither occupant was injured but both were left badly shaken.
Two of the men wore yellow hard hats and the third, a balaclava. One of the men was described as being around 5’6″ tall with a grey moustache and was wearing a grey coloured Nike jacket.
Police would appeal to anyone that was in the area at the time and who may have noticed any suspicious activity to contact CID at Ardmore on the new non-emergency number 101 quoting reference 491090414.
Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111
