SDLP Councillor Gillian Fitzpatrick has voiced her concerns about the increase in rural crime around the Mayobridge-Saval area. The Crotlieve Councillor said, “Recently there has been a spate of burglaries involving farm machinery which is of great concern. “There is an onus on everyone to look out for their neighbours and famers and to mark their equipment with some of the new devices available, so items can be identified to make it harder for the thieves. “The other way to help is never accept any equipment at knock down prices, for your gain could be your neighbours loss. She added, “I would call on anyone with information to contact the PSNI or your neighbourhood watch co-ordinator.”
