People’s Millions now open for applications

Sinn Féin MLA Caitriona Ruane has encouraged community groups, health bodies, and other organisations to apply for this years People’s Millions which opened recently. Speaking to Newry Times, Ruane said, “People’s Millions is run by the Big Lottery in conjunction with ITV to benefit health groups, schools and other community projects. “The final selected projects are showcased on TV and voted for by the public. This year there is nearly £3.8m available in 76 different awards of £50,000 to help projects provide a service to their local community. “Groups can make an application through the website. Ruane added, “I would encourage as many groups as possible to apply to be part of this years People’s Millions as if they are successful the benefits can be far reaching as seen with previous winners.”
