Four arrests after Newry St Patrick’s Day assaults

Police have arrested a 19 year old man, a 19 year old woman and an underage boy and girl following a report of two assaults at the Merchants Quay, Newry area on Monday 17th March. At around 6pm , it was reported that a female was punched to the ground and received facial and body injuries that are not believed to be serious by two females. The female was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment for her injuries. A male was assaulted by two males in the area and was taken to a nearby hospital for injuries that are not believed to be serious. All four persons arrested were released on police bail pending further enquiries. Local police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them on 0845 600 8000.
