Newry based Chartered Accountancy firm, Malone Lynchehaun, are developing their management skills through the Department for Employment and Learning’s Management Analysis and Planning (MAP) Programme.

The MAP Programme uses the services of a professional consultant to help organisations better understand what they are doing well and to identify areas for improving the effectiveness of its current management and leadership practices.

Participating companies receive a tailored training and development plan specific to their needs. MAP is one of the suite of management and leadership training courses, all of which are currently 100% funded by DEL and available to SME’s and Social Enterprises.

Employment and Learning Minister, Dr Stephen Farry said, “Improved management and leadership skills are proven worldwide to be a highly effective way for companies to gain a competitive edge.

“It is vital that Northern Ireland SME’s and Social Economy Enterprises continue to take advantage of this training in order to unlock the potential of their workforce, increase their productivity and grow our local economy.

“I am committed to making relevant and meaningful management and leadership training available and I continue to encourage our future leaders and managers to avail of this 100% funding arrangement.”

Speaking of his experiences of completing MAP and MLDP, Brendan Malone, Manager, Malone Lynchehaun, said, “The training assisted me in critically evaluating many areas of the business and equipped me with new ideas and measures to introduce.

“It was a great environment to meet other business owners and managers and to discuss similar issues with similar people. It is important to continually learn and grow, and training is important in this regard.”

The Department’s suite of management and leadership training courses, all currently 100% funded, comprises of the Management Analysis and Planning (MAP) Programme, the Management and Leadership Development Programme (MLDP) and the INTRO Graduate Programme.
