Celebrate St Patrick’s weekend at The Quays

The Quays Shopping Centre, Newry will be steeped in Irish fun and culture this weekend to help kick start St Patrick’s Day celebrations.

There will be lots of fun for the entire family to enjoy kicking start the celebrations early on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th March as The Quays Kids Club will be running from 1-4pm with plenty of green themed arts and crafts activity.

With Newry’s St Patrick’s Day parade setting off from outside The Quays at 12noon on Monday 17th March, why not step inside the Centre for a fun filled day of dance, music, sweet treats and competitions.

From 1.30pm fantastic Irish Dancing from the very talented Rooney Omalley Maguire group will be performing in the mall, as well as some lively Irish traditional music from Newry band, The Cricks.

If that wasn’t enough, keep an eye out for The Quays resident Leprechaun who will be out and about scouting for the best kids fancy dress, as five lucky winners will receive a family pass to the Omniplex Cinema along with £20 to spend on sweets and treats in the cinemas shop- so make sure your little leprechauns are dressed to impress.

Cathal Austin, Centre Manager at The Quays said, “We’re very excited to see everyone get down to The Quays on what promises to be a long bank holiday weekend of music, dance, culture and fantastic activities for the kids to enjoy.

“Celebrations commence on Saturday 15th March running right through to St Patrick’s Day making sure there is lots to do when you are down in The Quays. Don’t forget to look out for The Quays Leprechaun to be in with a chance of winning family passes and shop credit to the Omniplex Cinema in The Quays,” he added.
