‘Vulnerable man’ suffers broken nose in Newry attack

Police in Newry are appealing for information following the report of an attack on a vulnerable man on the evening of Friday 28th February. The man is believed to have been making his way home along Canal Street when he was assaulted. The exact time and location of the assault is not clear at this stage. The man suffered bruising to his left eye and a suspected broken nose. Police would ask anyone who witnessed an assault taking place in the Canal Street area sometime on the evening of Friday 28th February to contact them in Ardmore on 0845 600 8000 quoting ref 244010314. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
