Speaking During a meeting of the Culture, Arts and Leisure Committee on the Department’s Review of Delivering Tomorrow’s Libraries; McKevitt said: “Kilkeel has now been brought into the 21st Century with the provision of their new library.
“This community fought hard against threats of cutbacks and has been rewarded with a state of the art resource that will act as a real cultural hub. The library will not only be a dynamic focal point, but a much valued community asset.”
McKevitt added that she is looking forward to the upcoming official opening of the new library this coming spring. “Delivering Tomorrow’s Libraries’ sets out DCAL’s commitment to modernising and improving our public library services.
