Scór participants commended

Sinn Féin councillor Mickey Larkin has praised local GAA clubs who participated in the recent Scór events held across County Armagh.

Speaking to Newry Times, he stated, “Scór is a fantastic competition which promotes Ireland’s traditional of storytelling.

“I think it’s great that we have such a vibrant Scór scene in this county and I commend all those who participled. In particular congratulations must go to all the county finalists who will now participate in the Ulster semi-final on the 9th March in Clann Éireann GAA, Lurgan.

“My local club Dromintee was successful in the traditional music section and was also awarded the title of Club of the Year. This is a great achievement particularly considering that all of this is done on a voluntary basis.

“I would like to give a particular mention to Silverbridge GAA Club which was successful in three out of the eight sections in the competition, this is an excellent achievement. In addition Killeavy GAA and Carrickcruppen GAA clubs will participate in the semi final in the diciplines of set dancing and recitation.

Larkin added, “I wish all those participating in the Scór semi Final on 9th March and I ask everyone to support these local clubs representing South Armagh.”
