Newry police call for witnesses after city centre armed robbery

Detectives in Newry are appealing for information after a report of an armed robbery at business premises in the Upper Water Street area of the City last night, Thursday 30th January.

At approximately 6.25pm it was reported that a man carrying a suspected firearm entered the premises and threatened staff.

The man made off with a sum of cash. The member of staff was not injured during the incident.

The man is described as wearing a dark blue coloured hooded zipped jacket with the hood pulled up and blue jeans.

Anyone who has any information about this incident is asked to contact CID in Ardmore Police Station on 0845 600 8000.
