McKevitt announces new outreach clinic
Karen McKevitt, SDLP MLA for South Down has announced the start-up of an Outreach Clinic in her constituency.
The Assemblywoman told Newry Times, “I am delighted to announce I will be running an Outreach Clinic in the new year.
“The new clinic is intended to give people in rural areas the opportunity to bring issues to me as their elected representative in the Northern Ireland Assembly and seek advice on a range of matters including planning, flooding, housing and roads.
“I will be available to meet with people along with some of the local SDLP Councillors, fellow elected party members and support staff. Gerry Doran, my Constituency Office Social Security Benefits Advisor, will be on hand to deal with queries on existing benefits and new benefits that will be implemented over the next coming months.
McKevitt added, “This service will be allocated on a weekly basis at three locations including Rathfriland, Kilkeel and Glenn/Saval area.
“The first clinic will take place on 15th January 2014 in the Scout Hall, Rathfriland from 11pm – 1pm. Details of the Outreach Clinic’s will be published in parish bulletins and through by Twitter and Facebook accounts. Everyone welcome.”
