Police arrest 15 year old after double burglary

Police in Newtownhamilton arrested a 15 year old male following two burglaries in the Meadowvale area on Saturday, 21st December.

During the early hours of 21st December a householder disturbed a male in his home.

The male made off with keys and a sum of cash. A burglary was also reported at a nearby house where a sum of cash was taken.

After viewing CCTV images, police conducted the search of a house in Dungormley Estate on the same date. A number of items, connected to the two burglaries, were recovered during the search and a 15 year old male was arrested on suspicion of burglary and possession of Class B drugs.

He was later released on bail pending further enquiries.
