Speaking to Newry Times, Gibbons said, “I am delighted to announce that, following representations from my Sinn Fein colleagues, Newry & Mourne District Council have installed some 22 new Christmas features in Rostrevor. “The features are now in place and provide a great impetus to the continuing resurgence of the village, helping attract visitors and shoppers to Rostrevor in the period leading up to Christmas and adding greatly to its welcoming seasonal ambience. Gibbons added, “Small things such as this go a long way to improving community spirit and ownership of the village, and adds greatly to the already excellent reputation that Rostrevor has in the wider Down area.”
