Bradley welcomes Killeavy Castle proposal

SDLP Assembly Member for Newry and Armagh Dominic Bradley has welcomed the news that the new owners of Killeavy Castle are to bring forward proposals which will see the building restored to its former glory and at the same time creating jobs in the local community.

Speaking to Newry Times, Bradley explained, “Killeavy Castle is a beautiful historic building however it has got into a terrible state of disrepair over recent years.

“The announcement by its new owners that they intended to restore it to its former glory and options will include hotel accommodation as well as the agricultural potential of the surrounding site.

“I know the community will welcome this news and will want to see the building restored, along with the huge economic potential which any development will bring.

Bradley added, “I am also pleased that the owners have engaged a local design team and that they have committed to working with local stakeholders in the community and the local council as they bring forward their development proposals.”
