PSNI hunt ‘foreign national females’ after string of Newry thefts

Police in Kilkeel are appealing for information following the theft of cigarettes from a number of shops in the Kilkeel, Rostrevor and Newry area.

On 30th November, 2013, two foreign national females entered convenience stores on Newcastle Road, Kilkeel, Greencastle Street, Kilkeel and Bridge Street, Rostrevor and made off without paying for Marlborough cigarettes.

In the Newcastle Road incident the females made off in a silver/grey Transit minibus with tinted windows.

In a fourth incident three foreign national females entered a convenience store in Patrick Street, Newry at around 5.30pm on Monday, 2nd December. They made off with Marlborough cigarettes.

One of the females is described as being around 20 years old with bleached blonde hair and dark roots and was wearing a leather jacket and tartan dress.

Police are appealing to anyone who has information in relation to these incidents to contact them in Kilkeel on 0845 600 8000. They are also reminding shop owners and staff to be vigilant of thefts and report any suspicious activity to police immediately.
