Gibbons calls for immediate action on Greenpark Road
Sinn Féin Crotlieve candidate Mark Gibbons has called on the Roads Service to take immediate action concerning the appalling state of the Greenpark Road, Rostrevor.
Speaking to Newry Times, Gibbons explained, “I have been approached by several residents in the area who have voiced their concerns over the state of the Greenpark Road.
“I and party colleague Mick Murphy have inspected the road and it is quite clear that it simply isn’t fit for purpose. There are a large number of potholes and the road has deteriorated so rapidly that you simply can’t see the road for the potholes.
“The Roads Service have carried out a number of good upgrades in the Crotlieve area in recent times, and whilst I appreciate there are budget considerations I would urge them to make the resurfacing of the Greenpark Road a priority.
Gibbons added, “With the current state of the road it is only a matter of time before an accident occurs.”
