Sheepbridge Park and Share expansion welcomed
Sinn Fein candidate for Crotlieve, Sinéad Ennis, has welcomed the commencement of work on the Park and Share extension at Sheepbridge.
Speaking to Newry Times, Ennis said, “While it is fantastic that this Park and Share facility has been a great success the fact that there is not enough provision for vehicles has meant that cars are using the Corcreechy Road as an overflow carpark.
“This is unsustainable and I am delighted that this expansion, which will accommodate a further 30 plus vehicles, is now underway.
“It is great to see that local people are embracing the concept of car pooling which benefits the environment and is of course more economical for people.
Ennis added, “Roads Service must be commended for being proactive on this issue and I hope that users of the facility are no too inconvenienced while the work is ongoing.”
